What is the Difference Between a Storm Watch and a Storm Warning

A storm watch and a storm warning are different things. Many times we hear the radio or tv talk about a “watch” or “warning”, but do you really know the difference?

Storm Watch

A storm watch means that the weather conditions are favorable to it becoming severe weather, although no severe weather has been reported yet. This lets people know that they should prepare for severe weather. A storm watch can always turn into a storm warning.

Storm Warning

A storm warning means that severe weather has been reported and specific locations are announced. When a warning is reported, you should take shelter immediately to ensure your safety.

At SERVPRO of *Franchise* we are prepared for any type of storm damage that may come your way. Our crews are always ready and on standby when a storm rolls in. If you find yourself needing storm damage restoration services, give us a call!
